Sucralfate and oxetacaine suspension is a combination medication used primarily to treat and protect against stomach and duodenal ulcers, as well as to relieve symptoms of acidity, heartburn, and gastritis. It works through a dual-action mechanism involving an ulcer protectant and a local anesthetic.

• Sucralfate (Ulcer Protectant): This ingredient is an anti-ulcer agent that, upon ingestion, reacts with stomach acid to form a thick, protective, paste-like barrier. This barrier adheres selectively to the site of ulcers or damaged mucosa, shielding the injured tissue from further irritation and damage by stomach acid, pepsin, and bile salts, which facilitates healing.
• Oxetacaine (Local Anesthetic): Also known as oxethazaine, this component acts as a potent local anesthetic. It numbs the affected area of the stomach lining and esophagus, providing rapid and prolonged relief from the pain, burning sensation, and discomfort associated with acid-related injuries or ulcers.
